The ‘Discover Cheshire’ and ‘Discover The Mersey Forest’ websites are unique and innovative resources developed by Cheshire County Council, which allow visitors to find walks, cycle routes and horse rides in Cheshire. Promote provided consultancy and designed the graphics for the websites, which utilise Google Maps technology to display local authority digital mapping and aerial photography, combined with information from the local tourism database. This makes the sites highly interactive, providing the user with the ability to browse a wide variety of routes and to find a range of other information such as attractions, accommodation and transport near the walks or rides they choose. Users can also print route cards, complete with mapping and directions. Both sites are due for launch in early 2007.
